Debate Spaces is once again excited to host a virtual Brooks Quimby Debate Council reunion, which will take place Tuesday, May 16, at 8pm (ET). We’ve enjoyed seeing so many of you at our previous events, and we hope to bring together even more of your past teammates this year. With plenty of breakout opportunities for various generations to reconnect, we’ll also be gathering as a big BQDC family.

This event is particularly fun for us to host, as the BQDC has played an integral role in Debate Spaces since our inception as a nonprofit that connects students from around the world to foster key debate skills and facilitate youth activism. Any contribution you would like to make to the organization is welcome, but optional. This year, we are pleased to announce that gifts will be matched up to $5,000.

As you know, debate education has long been an invaluable tool for empowering students to tackle the demands of the moment. Yet finding spaces to foster debate can be challenging. Limited resources restrict access, and isolated geographic bubbles hinder learning opportunities as debaters mostly encounter peers with similar backgrounds and experiences. Aspiring leaders need safe spaces to grow as individuals while learning from communities who might think, act, and look different.

Debate Spaces provides such a space. Our programs make high-quality debate education accessible to more people in more places than ever. Hundreds of students from across the U.S. and around the world learn vital skills and tackle real-world issues as they form global communities.
