Delaware College Scholars (DCS) is the first of its kind public/private partnership, and Delaware's only tuition-FREE, residential college preparatory and persistence program for high-achieving public-school students from low-income families.

Unlike any other, DCS is a 7-year program with a 3-year RESIDENTIAL component. Beginning the summer after 10th grade, accepted scholars receive both intensive summer and year-round support in the form of college-style classes, academic enrichment, test prep and one-on-one college counseling to visit, evaluate and apply to four-year competitive colleges and universities.

Queen City Scholars (QCS) began as a pilot expansion of this proven approach in 2020 and officially launched as it's own program in 2023. We proudly replicate the work described above specifically for our Charlotte base of scholars, holding the summer program locally at Johnson C. Smith University.
