Disability Proud Festival: Celebrating Inclusion, Community, and Independence

Every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and included.

For many individuals with disabilities in our community, opportunities to gather, celebrate, and fully participate in accessible events are still far too limited. That’s why Midstate Independent Living Choices (MILC) created the Disability Proud Festival- a day dedicated to connection, celebration, and belonging.

Inspired by the legacy of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Disability Pride movement, this festival brings together individuals with disabilities, families, advocates, and community members to celebrate disability as a natural and valuable part of human diversity.

This isn’t just an event- it’s a space where:

A child can try adaptive recreation for the first time
A family can connect with resources that change their daily lives
A community member can learn, grow, and become a stronger ally
Individuals with disabilities can celebrate who they are- proudly and unapologetically

From live entertainment and accessible activities to resource booths and meaningful connections, every part of the festival is designed with inclusion at its core.
