Starting October 1, 2024, JOY will discontinue dinner service two nights a week due to volunteer shortages and financial challenges. Despite serving 42,600 meals so far this year, rising costs and a $30,000 net loss make this change necessary.

Key Challenges:

Increased meal costs ($2.75 per meal) and a $12,000 rise in security expenses.
Volunteer shortages, especially during dinner shifts, have led to reliance on paid staff.
