Akitso is a nonprofit organization on a mission to advancing equity in the food industry through design.

We support under-resourced food entrepreneurs by providing culturally responsive branding, marketing, and space design services that are often financially and institutionally inaccessible.

Who we serve
Akitso’s services are open to all food entrepreneurs, with a focus on those historically excluded from traditional business support systems. Priority populations include immigrant, refugee, BIPOC, women, and low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs—particularly those operating in under-resourced neighborhoods or informal food economies.

Impact of our work

Through strategic, design-driven support, Akitso works with small food businesses to:
