Deep Routes is an educational project that uplifts the foodways of African and Indigenous diasporas. Our mission is to realign the culinary and agricultural learning experience with a collaborative and culturally-affirming mode of sharing knowledge.

Through thoughtful programming, learning materials, and multimedia offerings we aim to be a resource to people of African and Indigenous diasporas as they (re)connect to, celebrate, and/or deepen their relationships to food. Our work is grounded in understanding the interconnected Roots and Routes of plants, animals, people, places, culinary practices, agricultural practices, and rituals across diasporas.
