Thank you — truly, we repeat truly and sincerely — for supporting the Svet Peace Project.

Svet began in December 2023 with almost nothing: two students, a handful of books, and a hope that young people might sit together — even across countries at war — and discover something shared and purely human. We believed that peace begins in small rooms, around real conversation, long before it begins anywhere else.

Our college helped us with a summer internship stipend that covered basic living costs, but the work itself—the seminars, the outreach, the writing, the building was entirely unpaid. For two years, up untill now, we kept the project alive simply because we loved it and believed in what it could become.
The Projects for Peace in 2024 grant was used fully as well — we spent every dollar to run courses and pay teachers.

That is why your gift matters so deeply to us. It tells us that the light (our name Svet comes from slavic for light) we’ve been carrying is seen by someone else too.

Your support now helps with the simple but essential things: books, materials, a room to sit in, and all the small administrative pieces that keep a young nonprofit breathing. It also supports the independent seminar programs we’re offering in the U.S. as well as the world, and helps us begin, for the first time, to compensate ourselves modestly going forward — so that Svet can slowly grow into sustainable work, rather than something we do only late at night after everything else.
