Honoring Dalton. Healing Trauma. Empowering Youth.

The Doolin Dalton Awareness Ride was created in loving memory of Dalton Nichols, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident. In the midst of deep loss, Dalton’s parents chose to create something meaningful—an annual ride that raises awareness, honors Dalton’s life, and helps protect others from experiencing similar trauma.

Each year, a different charity is selected as the beneficiary of the ride. For 2026, funds raised from the ride will benefit Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County (BHSPC), specifically supporting trauma services and the BHSPC Youth Board. These programs are dedicated to helping individuals and families heal from trauma, cope with PTSD, and address mental health challenges including suicide awareness and prevention.

Trauma can affect anyone—after accidents, sudden loss, or life-altering events. BHSPC provides education, counseling, and resources to help people process these experiences, build resilience, and find hope. Meanwhile, the BHSPC Youth Board empowers young people to lead prevention initiatives, advocate for mental health, and create safer, stronger communities.
