Doxology Studios is a nonprofit that documents redemptive stories around the world so that people will experience the hope found in Jesus. We create short-documentaries that uncover the beauty, struggle, and unseen reality of the global Church.

Proverbs 25:25 says “Like cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a far country.” God is working through his people all over the earth, even in the most unlikely places, yet we rarely hear about it. We believe that the witness of the global Church can encourage and strengthen the western Church today.

Our mission is to give people a global perspective of God and the church, encourage exploration of Christianity, and mobilize Christians to live missionally for the kingdom wherever God is calling them to serve.

The Problem

For the past decade we’ve been sent around the world to make films for missions organizations. We’ve experienced how beautiful, faithful, and culturally diverse God’s people are. But we kept running into a problem. Amazing stories we recorded were not actually being heard back in the States. We realized that unless a story could fit into a 5 minute marketing video, it was not going to get told.

We knew God was inviting us to find a new way to bring these stories home.

Think of your favorite documentaries. Think of the impact they have had on our world. Now imagine these films were never made. Think of the missed opportunity that would be. Is that not also true of the untold stories of the global church? What we’re saying is this: Where are the documentaries of the global church? God is working around the world, and people don’t even know it. We think this is a big problem. Millions of young people are leaving the church every year. They see the church as irrelevant at best. At the same time the majority Christians in America have never seen the beauty of God’s global family.

What if they could sit across from some of the people we’ve met? Like our friend in Ethiopia, who would tell them God not only healed her cancer but also her abusive marriage after her husband became a believer because her church prayed over her for years. What if they could meet David who was smuggled out of Honduras as a child, sold to a cartel in Mexico and forced to live in a house of other hostages for months? But in that house he found a radio that played a children’s bible program and taught him about God. That’s where he met Jesus, in that house.

Jesus is alive and doing incredible things and people aren’t hearing about it.

Why Doxology Studios?

Proverbs 25:25 says “like cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a far country.” We are convinced that if people could meet some of the people we’ve met and hear some of the stories we’ve heard from their own mouths, faith would be strengthened and hope could be found. Not everyone can travel to where I’ve met them but we can bring their stories home

That is why we created Doxology Studios

We create documentary short films and podcasts that bear witness to what God is doing in and through the global church, so that people will experience the hope found in Jesus.

We partner with like-minded ministries and Great Commission workers to create story-driven videos, podcasts, and articles that elevate God working in and through His people from every corner of the globe. We then make those stories accessible through libraries of content that are all made available for free by the generous donations of our supporters.

The Leadership

About the Founders.

Claire is a documentary filmmaker and nationally published photographer. After receiving her BFA in Photography, she pioneered a media ministry with Mission to the World. With over a decade of experience, Claire has served over a dozen organizations globally producing films in 21 countries across 5 continents.

Murray has over 16 years of experience working as a director, producer, and cinematographer, with a focus on using documentary storytelling to cover some of the most pressing issues facing our world today. Originally from Scotland, Murray has lived in the US since 2006.

Our Name

In Paul’s day, God provided letters as the primary means of communication. Paul and the other Apostles could communicate what was happening in churches abroad and these letters have been used to encourage, strengthen, challenge, and mobilize believers for centuries. In the past it was letters, and today the primary mediums are video, podcasts, and the written word online.

Oftentimes in Paul’s letters, as he’s describing what God has done, he breaks out into a doxology - literally “glory-speech.” Throughout our 10 years of documenting people’s stories around the world, we have experienced countless people “doxologizing”; speaking of God’s glory as they tell their story of gospel redemption in their lives.
