A haunting tale of passion, power, and the eternal dance between light and shadow, Dracula sweeps audiences into a gothic world where romance and danger intertwine.

When young solicitor Jonathan Harker travels to Transylvania, he unknowingly opens the door to a nightmare. Count Dracula, a figure of magnetic charm and terrifying power, sets his sights on London - and on those Jonathan holds dear. As the count’s dark influence spreads, love and innocence are pitted against immortal hunger. Ballet Wichita’s Dracula follows this gothic tale through breathtaking choreography, tracing a path from the candlelit corridors of a distant castle to the desperate struggle for survival in the heart of the city.

Each year, Ballet Wichita performs for over 20,000 people, including six performances of the treasured holiday ballet, The Nutcracker.

Through the company’s innovative and growing arts educational and outreach programs, Ballet Wichita buses nearly 6,000 elementary-age students to its annual matinee performances of the Nutcracker (often a first-time exposure to both dance and live theatre for students). Ballet Wichita’s educational programs have received acknowledgment and support from the Kansas Health Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Ballet Wichita is committed to providing exceptional opportunities in dance, including the chance to observe and learn from professional guest artists in residencies and master classes. Students attending our workshops and dancing in our productions represent nearly all the studios and numerous universities and colleges from across South Central Kansas; we are grateful for the enduring relationship we have with the talented teachers and schools in our community.
