Right now, Jes MaHarry is standing in a Texas kill pen with her sketchbook, sitting with the horses and donkeys who are waiting to be sold by weight. She is painting them one at a time, by hand, so you can see their faces. Bonded families are being split apart around her. Most of these animals will not make it out unless someone buys their freedom this week.
