Drop Site News launched in June 2024 with a simple premise: produce fearless, investigative journalism and make it free for everyone. No paywalls. No billionaire owners. No corporate board deciding which stories get told. Just journalism that answers to readers.

Our Growth and Impact

In under two years, that bet has paid off. Drop Site has grown to nearly 800,000 subscribers, over 19,000 paying supporters, and more than 22 million monthly views. Our reporters are on the ground in Gaza, Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan, and on Capitol Hill, showing up in the places where the story matters and almost nobody else is doing the work like we are. The White House has called our reporting "abhorrent." We consider that a compliment.

This growth didn't happen because of a massive marketing budget or legacy media infrastructure. It happened because millions of people are looking for journalism that doesn't soften edges for access to power, that names systems of corruption clearly, and that investigates them rigorously. Drop Site is where they're finding it.
