🍭 Emmie’s SpAggie Crew: Walking Proud for Sweet Abilities!
Hi, I'm Emory—and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you! I'm part of Emmie’s SpAggie Crew, a team inspired by my Mommy (a Spartan 💛💙) and my Daddy (an Aggie 💛💙). Together, we're walking in the Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro’s 22nd Annual Buddy Walk® on October 4, 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited!
This year marks my 7th Buddy Walk. That’s right—my mommy and daddy got me involved from the very start, and they never hesitated. Even during COVID, when the walk went virtual, our crew kept marching on. Buddy Walk has always been a part of my life, and it’s more than just a yearly event—it’s a celebration of ability, community, and unconditional love.
The theme this year is Sweet Abilities, and I think that fits perfectly. Because having Down Syndrome isn’t a limitation—it’s part of what makes me awesome. And through this walk, we’re not just stepping forward, we’re stepping up: for inclusion, empowerment, and visibility for kids like me.
But here’s the best part: Every dollar we raise helps other children in our community who share my journey!! It helps families get the support they need through DSNGG—things like therapy, tutoring, recreation, scholarships, new family welcome gifts, and more. The STAR Center is a safe, encouraging place where kids of all ages can grow, learn, and thrive. It’s a lifeline—and it runs on love and donations.
Plus, 7% of the funds go to the National Down Syndrome Society’s advocacy work in Washington D.C.—fighting for laws and policies that make life better for all of us.
💙 I walk because I believe in possibilities. I walk because kids like me deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. And I walk because Emmie’s SpAggie Crew is marching toward a future full of sweet abilities.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We hope to see your smiling face at Keeley Park this October. Let’s make this year the sweetest one yet!
