This fall, our community came together to raise over $20,000 to launch the DVISD Family Support Fund. In the months since, we've received requests from 125+ DVISD families.

We've provided clothes, utility payments, food, hygiene products. And most of all, we've shown our families that when they face tough times, they're not alone. We're rallying around our neighbors, our children's classmates, and families who struggle to make ends meet.

In Del Valle ISD, 90% of our students are considered "economically disadvantaged" (that's almost double Austin ISD).
In human terms, it means they rely on our schools for help with basic needs – food, medical care, showers, laundry, personal hygiene products, clothes, and more.

The Del Valle ISD Education Foundation (a 501c3 nonprofit that assists the district) has launched the Family Support Fund to put emergency assistance directly into the hands of our Student Services professionals: the social workers, counselors, parent liaisons, nurses, and staff.

They know our families. They know what's needed. And with your help, they can respond immediately.

Now we need to replenish the fund – to help more families.
Especially in these cold winter months.

What Your Gift Provides:

$50 - Gas card to keep a family's car running (most have to drive to reach social services)
$100 - Food for a family for a week (when food pantries are closed, empty, or out of reach)
$250 - Utility reconnection fees, to keep the water running and heat on during these cold days
$500 - Short-term housing assistance (an apartment security deposit or month's rent) to prevent homelessness

Every dollar goes directly to students and families in crisis. No waiting for the next mobile food pantry. No falling through the cracks. Immediate help when it matters most. (Plus follow-up support from our network of social service organizations).

Why This Matters

Our students can't focus on learning when they're worried about where their next meal is coming from or whether the lights will stay on. When we support families in crisis, we protect our children's futures.
