Our Mission is “to honor and celebrate Cape Ann's rich literary legacy, and to empower individuals to engage in the writing and telling of stories in the spirit of civic engagement."
For 14 years, our programs have played a vital role in developing the culture and community in Gloucester and the North Shore. We contribute by providing young and old alike ways to explore their passions and develop skills through our writing workshops and ongoing writers groups. We also sponsor and host community-facing events like our popular Fish Tales, our Reader Series, and various civically engaged projects like readings on International Women's Day, film screenings, and a reading of Martin Luther King Jr's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" with an improvised jazz accompaniment.
In the future, our plans include an expansion of our Reader Series, more collaborations with partner institutions like the Sawyer Free Library, the Cultural Center on Rocky Neck, the Little Art Cinema in Rockport and many others! With our rich tradition of community engagement and collaboration, the future is bright. All of this is possible because of the support of donors, volunteers, and contributions from the community.
Please consider adding us to your Giving Tuesday recipients this year.
