My father, Maurice Feukou has recently passed away in Cameroon on Tuesday, 12/15/2020. His death was very unexpected and has devastated my entire family. In Cameroon, my father was admitted to a public hospital after experiencing severe cold symptoms. Unfortunately, my father was maltreated in the hospital and had passed away due to improper care. The manner in which my father has died has left my family and close family friends heartbroken.

Among emotional distress, this tragedy has also has impacted my family financially. We have already had limited funds due to COVID, and do not have enough to support my final semester in University. I am a senior pursing a B.S in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. My mother has been extremely overwhelmed with finances for the funeral of my father that she is struggling to complete the amount I need for my final semester as an international student, let alone financially support me in other ways during this time.

I ask if you could please donate any amount possible as I am trying to raise $20,000 for myself to graduate and for other necessities in this time. I am also currently unemployed as a I lost my job as a desktop support technician due to COVID-19.

The $25,000 goal amount includes:

Tuition and Health Insurance Package: $15,000 --> $ 10,000.00

Meal Plan (limited at university due to COVID): $2,031.00

Housing: $4,632.00

Other necessities(includes healthcare bills ) : ~$3697.00

I am asking for your support in this very challenging time by donating any amount possible and sharing this fundraiser to others.

*UPDATE AS OF 01/09/2021*

The total goal of this givebutter fundraiser has decreased from $25,000 to $20,000. The amount has decreased because the International Education Department has reached out to me, informing me that I do not need to be a full-time student in my final semester as an international student. I have decided to be a part time student for my final semester as I only needed a couple of classes left for my majors. The overall cost for my tuition has decreased now due to this decision. I am also currently looking into job opportunities to possibly work during the semester to help with costs .

I am overwhelmingly grateful for my supporters, as you all have strengthened my faith and courage to push through the most challenging moment of my life.
