The NIA Foundation has always believed in the power of Safe Spaces, especially for youth who are too often left without one.

Our Safe Spaces for Youth program was designed for them: BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized teens navigating a world that doesn’t always make room for their full selves.

And it’s working.

We’ve already provided:

Trauma-informed mental health care to dozens of youth and their families
Housing, food, clothing, and hygiene support in partnership with Metro and other organizations
Youth-led forums, poetry slams, and leadership development
Therapeutic spaces like a community garden and (coming soon) a poultry farm
Recognition and collaboration from the LA County Board of Supervisors, the City of Long Beach, UCLA, DCFS, and more...

Now, we’re at a crossroads.

Due to sudden budget cuts affecting nonprofits like ours, we’re launching a 6 month rescue plan.

Our Goal:
Raise $30,000/month to keep our doors open and our impact growing.
