Post-Earthquake Support for Children with Disabilities in Turkey & Syria

Since February 6th, 2023, a series of catastrophic earthquakes have killed more than 50,000 people in Turkey and Syria and have displaced hundreds of thousands, including many refugees who are losing their homes for the second, third, or even fourth, time in their lives.

A refugee mother in the A Global Voice for Autism community shared: "We are psychologically very tired. We lived in Syria for five years of war and bombing. We came to Turkey and now we are reliving these moments."

Another mother of four with a 16-year-old daughter on the autism spectrum shared: "Our home is gone. We can never go back. We have been sleeping in a friend's damaged store. I'm alone with my daughters. Now we have nothing."

Over the past three weeks, A Global Voice for Autism has assessed the needs of earthquake-impacted families of children with disabilities. A small donation can make a big difference in the lives of children and their families during this difficult time.
