The classroom competition will end at 11:59 PM on Thursday, October 13th with the winner being announced on Friday morning during announcements. If you missed this in the first letter we sent home, we want you to remind you that in order to keep the competition fair, we take the average per student raised. There is a big difference in class sizes at Eason, so this is the only way to make it even. Here are the grade level numbers if you want to figure out the average before you make your last minute donations:

Kindergarten has 97 students total.

1st grade has 111 students total.

2nd grade has 96 students total.

3rd grade has 96 students total.

4th grade has 117 students total.

5th grade has 124 students total.

The winning grade level gets to celebrate with a pizza party from 7 Stone Pizzeria and pick Mr. Prohaska’s crazy adventure. Check out what each grade picked for him to do:

Kindergarten voted to have him dress in a corn costume and have a dance party!

1st grade voted to silly string/slime him!

2nd grade voted to have him go in a dunk tank at recess!

3rd grade voted to have him do the hot chip challenge!

4th grade voted to have him wear a Go Pro and ride the Monster at Adventureland!

5th grade voted to duct tape him to a wall!

Where: Eason Elementary

What: Eason's Epic Mile is a fundraising event in which your kiddos will run/walk up to one mile while completing some FUN obstacles along the way! Feel free to come and cheer them on or even walk/run with your kids! This is our primary fundraiser for the year, and it is intended to bring healthy activity, unity, school pride to the students and the community, while helping fund multiple experiences + supplies for our students and teachers!

Security Check in: Parents, grandparents, and siblings are more than welcome to join in for this event and will check in at a table outside, not in the office.

Who: Each grade level will have the opportunity to run/walk the course. Parents and siblings are welcome to run or walk with your kiddos!

Running Schedule:

5^th Grade: 12:00-12:30

4^th Grade: 12:30-1:00

3^rd Grade: 1:00-1:30

1^st Grade: 1:30-2:00

2^nd Grade: 2:00-2:30

Kindergarten: 2:30-3:00

Reminders: All students will receive a FREE Waukee Warriors t-shirt on the day of the event to wear during the run. They will be distributed the morning of the event.

Volunteers: We need you! Please click on the link to sign-up! It would be best to not sign-up during your child's allotted time so you can cheer them on. Just place a comment to let us know if you are not able to stay your whole shift. Check in at the volunteer table before your shift begins. We will need many course monitors to help the kids stay on track.

Goal: Our school-wide goal is to raise $30,000! We would love for each student to be able to collect at least $100 from their family and friends! If we hit our school-wide goal, the grade level who raises the most (average per student) will choose something CRAZY for Mr. Prohaska to do! In the past, he's slept on the school roof, kissed a pig, dressed up as a unicorn, and ALMOST colored his hair purple. (An average per student will be used to determine the winner due to varying class sizes.)

The winning grade level will also receive a PIZZA PARTY donated by 7 STONE!

Rewards: There will be fun prizes for EVERYONE as we hit different goals along the way like a free recess if we hit $5,000, a Warrior Lanes coupon if we hit $10,000, watching Mr. P pie Mr. Barry in the face if we hit $15,000, and a Spare Time coupon if we hit $20,000!

Why We Raise Money: Year after year, this fundraiser has allowed our school to purchase so many wonderful items and give amazing experiences to our students + teachers. The money we raise this year will go towards technology initiatives within the school, updating playground equipment, fund fine arts programs such as Science/Art Fair, Talking Canvas, and Cultural Day, fulfilling teacher wishlists, and purchasing comfortable furniture for student work spaces.
