Campaign History

The Anti-Litter Campaign began in March 2020 in the town of Talpa de Allende and continued to Puerto Vallarta, Mascota and Tomatlan in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. This campaign has been successful thanks to the support of local governments, donors and hundreds of volunteers.

Government Approval

On May 6, 2021, the Puerto Vallarta City Council approved the “Campaign Against Trash”.

“The City Council, Public Services and Finance Commissions approved the initiative of Councilor, Saúl López Orozco, to carry out an awareness campaign, promoted by John Benus.”

“There is an area of plastic and trash in the Pacific Ocean, almost the size of Mexico or twice the size of Texas". Our job is preventing trash from polluting and going into the Pacific Ocean.
