Advocates is committed to its mission that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of their life to the fullest extent possible. We ask that you consider making a donation to Advocates' Capital Improvement Campaign for the Doug Klepper Community Center located in Fayetteville, New York. Doug Klepper is remembered for his exemplary efforts for promoting disability inclusion and accessibility. Owned and operated by Advocates, the Doug Klepper Community Center acts as a catalyst for community inclusion, helping individuals with disabilities included in their community, foster and maintain relationships, learn important life, social, and communication skills, increase their self-esteem and self-worth, and so much more. 

 The scope of the project will involve removing existing doors and frames at the bathroom and ramp entrance, framing, hanging drywall, patching and painting around new doorways, running two 20 AMP 120V raceways for the electric door openers, and replacing doors with energy efficient automatic ADA-compliant doors with tactile signage. For safe ingress/egress, an extension lip will be installed on the facility’s existing wheelchair ramp.
