I am extremely honored to be a member of Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. As a founding member, I have been blessed to participate in the many service activities and programs throughout our 25 years as a Muslim Women's service organization. Among our service initiatives, we have a weekly feeding program that has served the needy in Atlanta for over 20 years. With every year, the growing numbers of unhoused emphasize the critical need for this program. Every Sunday, come rain, sleet, snow, or shine, a feeding team delivers food and hygiene kits to the homeless and needy of Atlanta. Our Rites of Unthaa program, a rites of passage for teenage girls, focuses on teaching participants to become faithful and virtuous women through a series of interactive sessions. We also host an annual Interfaith Health & Human Service Conference to offer community members opportunities to learn and engage in timely health topics, activities and services. During our Al Ma'un (Neighborly Needs) Winter event, we compile and give away care bags/backpacks including nonperishable food items, gloves, socks, blankets, etc. for the Atlanta unhoused and elderly community members. We also offer the Ummah Investment Scholarship to deserving students seeking higher education. Beyond our programs and initiatives, we also offer support through referral services. With each of these engagements, I have found a fulfilling and gratifying way to express my faith through service. We are a relatively small organization striving to make a meaningful difference to enhance and improve conditions for the betterment of those we serve. Our goal is $15,000 during this Eid to Eid campaign and $40,000 for the year. Your donation would be a blessing and would help Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. extend our reach. We sincerely appreciate a contribution in any amount.
