Eighth Grade Legacy Campaign

he Eighth Grade Legacy Gift is a tradition that provides a meaningful way for eighth grade families to honor their time at Belmont Day. Over the years, many have chosen to make a legacy gift to share their appreciation for their children's unparalleled education and experience at Belmont Day. This gift also provides an opportunity for our eighth graders to learn about the importance of philanthropy and giving back.

Traditionally our eighth grade families have worked together to decide what the class would support, and in 2019 we created a formal voting process for families to choose the designation. To share a bit of recent history, the Class of 2021 raised an astonishing $222,000+ to help offset COVID-19 expenses. In the past, other legacy gifts have supported excellence in teaching, the Claflin field scoreboard, financial aid, air conditioning in the Kiva and professional development.

This year the Legacy Gift goal for the families of the Class of 2022 is $250,000. This is an opportunity to support Belmont Day by making a gift that makes double the impact—supporting the annual fund and the Eighth Grade Legacy Gift. We ask eighth grade families to prioritize Belmont Day and make their most meaningful gift yet, as they fondly recall their child’s years at Belmont Day and look to leave a lasting legacy for future Belmont Day students to come.
