Elephant Protection and Conservation

Elephants are intelligent, emotionally complex, and ecologically vital—but they are under relentless threat across their range. From poaching for ivory to habitat fragmentation, human-elephant conflict, and the illegal wildlife trade, these gentle giants are being pushed toward extinction in Africa and Asia.

Global Conservation Force is committed to protecting elephants through a comprehensive, international approach that combines frontline protection, research, education, and global awareness.

Your support drives a wide-reaching network of elephant conservation programs:

  • Anti-Poaching & Ranger Training: We train and sponsor anti-poaching rangers across elephant range countries, including parts of East, Southern, and Central Africa. GCF provides both basic and advanced field training, gear sponsorships, and ongoing support to empower frontline teams to patrol elephant habitats, prevent poaching, and respond to illegal activity with professionalism and resilience.

  • Elephant Monitoring & Research Support: GCF actively supports collaring and tracking initiatives to help researchers gather vital movement and behavior data. This information informs anti-poaching patrols, land-use planning, and regional conservation strategy. Our partners use GPS collars to better understand migration corridors, breeding ranges, and conflict hotspots.

  • Habitat Protection & Wildlife Corridors: As part of our broader land and habitat work, GCF invests in land protection, reserve expansion, and the creation of wildlife corridors—vital to keeping elephants connected to water, forage, and breeding areas, and reducing human-wildlife conflict.

  • Asia & Indonesia Protection Efforts: GCF partners with conservationists in Asia, including Indonesia, to support education, community awareness, and ranger training in elephant range regions. These efforts focus on preventing habitat loss, reducing conflict with farmers, and disrupting illegal ivory trade routes.

  • Conservation Education & Global Awareness: Through our school programs, professional lectures, podcast episodes, and news features, we raise global awareness about elephant conservation challenges and successes. We also support documentary filmmaking and storytelling efforts that bring the elephant’s story to audiences worldwide.

Elephants need vast, safe landscapes, dedicated protectors, and informed communities to survive. With your help, we can make that possible.

Stand with elephants. Fund their future. Support GCF’s elephant conservation work today.
