Story
In YOUR community in the United States there are people missing out on education and work because they cannot manage their periods.
We know this. Because it’s happening everywhere.
Period poverty is not simply an inability to afford to manage menstruation, it can affect anyone who does not have easy access to the resources they need.
Think about it. Toilet paper is in every bathroom, but period products are rarely available in most workplaces and school bathrooms. Productivity and education, as well as self-esteem, suffer when individuals miss school or work due to a basic bodily function.
Doesn’t really make sense. But this is the way it’s always been. And we think it’s time we make a BIG change.
Girls Helping Girls. Period. is working to end period poverty by:
*Donating pads, tampons, liners and menstrual cups to anyone in need
*Advocating for systemic change by working with school administrators, business leaders and legislators
*Educating through our workshops, website, social media and writing
Your donations go towards efforts to make periods normal for EVERYONE so that something as natural as menstruation doesn't keep ANYONE from focusing on work, school and living a full, healthy life.
