Daniel's Company Youth Leadership Mentoring Program is a 501(c)(3) youth, statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth to become tomorrow's leaders in the State of Connecticut. Our mission is to foster personal growth, leadership skills, and exposure to new experiences, people, places, and opportunities in youth who need guidance and support to reach their full potential. We specifically serve youth ages 12-19 from various backgrounds, and youth who would benefit from positive role models and additional guidance to navigate academics, careers, and life challenges and have two programs. Our program goals are fourfold: We aim to equip youth with essential leadership skills to succeed in academics, careers, and community involvement. We provide opportunities for youth to interact with diverse people, visit new places, and explore various interests and careers through exposure and exploration. Our youth are paired with positive role models and mentors for guidance, support, and encouragement through mentorship. Our donations will be used to expand our programs by hiring more Mentors, and bringing our youth to new places that they have never been before increasing their (global awareness).

 Problem statement:

• Many youth in our community lack access to resources and opportunities that can help them succeed and grow as young leaders in training. 

• As a result, they may experience poor academic performance, low self-esteem and limited career opportunities and or opportunities outside of their local communities.

• Our programs are designed to address these challenges and provide youth with the support they need to thrive.

Outcome and Impact:

• Improved academic performance and increased high school graduation rates

• Increased self-esteem and confidence among youth

• Improved relationships between youth and caring adult

• Increased community engagement and volunteerism among youth.

• We have a proven track record of increasing academic performance and increasing self esteem in twenty youth who have been through our Youth Horizons of Greatness Program and supporting over thirty of our youth who have been through our CHAMPS Program for youth who were Juvenile Justice involved.

• Our youth in the Youth Horizons of Greatness Program graduate high school and we have 100 percent graduation rate.

• 90 percent of our youth within the C.H.A.M.P.S Program have a greater sense of identity and motivation and do not return to the Juvenile Justice System.
