About This Campaign

Access to basic menstrual care should never determine someone’s dignity, health, or confidence—yet for millions across the United States, it still does. Nearly 1 in 4 teens struggle to afford period products, and for women and girls in low‑income or unhoused communities, the challenge is even greater.

That’s why we created the EmpowHER Pocket Garden & Period Pantry—our community’s first accessible, discreet, always-open resource designed specifically for girls, women, and unhoused neighbors who are most impacted by period poverty.

Many navigate their cycles without support—using unsafe alternatives, missing school or work, or facing the shame that comes with not having what they need. This isn’t just a hygiene issue. It’s a health, safety, and dignity issue.

At Women Divine, in partnership with Empower You, PERIOD!, we’re committed to addressing this need thoughtfully, respectfully, and sustainably. 

What We’re Growing Together

This campaign supports the ongoing care, stocking, and community stewardship of our existing Period Pantry. Instead of building more pantries, at this time, our focus is strengthening the one we already have—so it remains dependable for the girls, women, and unhoused neighbors who rely on it.

Modeled similarly to community book nooks, this pantry operates on a simple but powerful principle:

Take what you need. Leave what you can. No questions. No shame.

Each pantry includes:

• A durable, weather-safe physical structure

• Safe, discreet, 24/7 access

• Ongoing stock of natural feminine hygiene products (biodegradable wipes, organic pads, tampons and disposable bags)

• Clear, empowering signage with education and resource connections

• Pathways to deeper support through Women Divine and Empower You, PERIOD! programs

This pantry works best when the community holds it together. Shared responsibility is the heart of sustainability.
