About This Campaign

Access to basic menstrual care should never determine someone’s dignity, health, or confidence. Yet for millions across the United States, it still does. Nearly 1 in 4 teens has struggled to afford period products, and for women and girls in low-income or unhoused communities, the challenge is often even greater.

That is why we created the EmpowHER Pocket Garden & Period Pantry, our community’s first accessible, discreet, always-open resource designed to support girls, women, and unhoused neighbors most impacted by period poverty.

Far too many people navigate their cycles without the care and support they need. Some are forced to use unsafe alternatives. Some miss school, work, or important daily activities. Others carry the quiet burden of shame that can come from not having access to basic essentials. This is not just a hygiene issue. It is a matter of health, safety, dignity, and equity.

At Women Divine, in partnership with Empower You, PERIOD!, we are committed to addressing this need thoughtfully, respectfully, and sustainably.

What We’re Growing Together

This campaign supports the ongoing care, stocking, and community stewardship of our existing Period Pantry. Rather than expanding to multiple locations right now, our focus is on strengthening the pantry we already have so it remains dependable for the girls, women, and unhoused neighbors who rely on it.

Modeled after the spirit of community book nooks, this pantry operates on a simple but powerful principle:

Each pantry helps provide:

A durable, weather-safe structure
Safe, discreet, 24/7 access
Ongoing supplies of menstrual care essentials, including organic pads, tampons, biodegradable wipes, and disposal bags
Clear, empowering signage with educational information and resource connections
Pathways to deeper support through Women Divine and Empower You, PERIOD! programs

This pantry works best when the community helps sustain it. Shared responsibility is what makes this effort lasting, practical, and deeply meaningful.
