Dogwood's Story

I didn't really know much about First Fruit Ministries, but two friends are on the Board. This mission is simple: reach the most homeless and human trafficked in our own community. Over 250 people will sleep on the streets tonight in New Hanover County— vulnerabilities like opioid use, past trauma, and financial hardship make this population particularly susceptible to human trafficking and other abuse. End it Ruck exists to shine a light on modern day slavery and raise funds to combat it. We ruck through the night to represent the weight those in modern day slavery are carrying in darkness, then we finish shortly after sunrise to shine a light on the modern day injustice. We travel a marathon distance to celebrate a victory at the end of a long and arduous journey. Many, mostly women and children, suffer alone and the time is now for our generation to take action. Join us as we decide to do something about this one thing instead of nothing about everything.
