After marriage, I couldn’t understand why I struggled so much with intimacy. I confided in a close friend who is also a pastor and she asked me if I had ever experienced sexual trauma. I wasn’t even sure what to say. I explained to her very vaguely what I had experienced in my childhood and she suggested that I reach out to Emerald of the Sea. I was in denial and even thought I was headed in the wrong direction because I just wanted someone to fix my problems, not pedal backwards. After my initial call with Esmeralda it still took me a few days to accept that I needed healing. Putting my trust in God alone I submitted my application to receive research-backed healing from past sexual traumas. I am now in semester 3 of 4 of the program and have discovered sooo many wounds opened that I didn’t even know were dormant! Opening those closet doors and shining light on the hidden wounds that I didn’t even know needed healing has impacted me in more ways than one. I’ve not only been able to dig deep into my past but I’ve learned to understand my behaviors and reactions which have helped improve communication in my relationships. EOS teaches survivors of sexual trauma their identity in Christ first which will help them discover their self worth in every aspect of their lives. EOS’s visions is healing generations and restoring nations; but transformation starts with us by setting up our descendants for success. EOS leads survivors of sexual trauma to the hope healing and freedom in Jesus Christ. Without Christ in the center of healing, you are just simply going to therapy. The mission here is to set women free and I want nothing more than for others to know that healing is available and FOR you. My next and last semester will help me fully apply everything I’ve learned to my life, marriage, and relationships. I hope to gain full freedom and courage knowing that Christ has always had and still has a purpose in my life and my experiences. I cannot wait to see what comes of my healing. ❤️‍🩹 🦋
