Extera Public School personalizes the instructional program to meet the needs of every child. The small school environment ensures that the unique academic and social needs of each student are recognized and supported in a school setting that nurtures their potential. Another critical aspect of that support is an expanded school year, which exceeds state requirements and provides increased access to the school’s core instructional program, increasing chances for long-term success in school and decreasing the likelihood of school failure.

EPS’s model of excellence includes all members of the school community working in collaboration. Teachers engage in frequent, ongoing professional development and collaboration that is grounded in an improvement plan focused on identified student needs; student progress is continuously monitored by analyzing student achievement data that is a combination of project-based, teacher-created, publisher-developed, and standardized assessments (i.e. SBAC and MAP); instructional decisions for program improvement are data-driven; and school staff work with families to build home-to-school relationships and community partnerships that support children and empower families.  Extera Public Schools continues to strengthen and develop partnerships with community organizations.
