Summer Theater and Academic Programs and Camps
CCHS Summer Theater and Academic Programs: ROBOTICS-Entering Grades 6-9, JULY 7-10, 9AM-3PM. $400. CCHS participates in the world's largest robotics competition. This 4-day camp will give you a chance to build robots from metal parts, install and program the robot to respond to input from sensors, and compete in a mini-tournament with other campers by the end of the week. Invite your family on the last day to see what you've learned! HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST PREP-Entering 8th Grade only. JULY 7-10 OR JULY 14-17 FROM 9AM-12PM. $150. Students will spend one week learning the basics of the High School Placement Test in preparation for the test in the fall. Students will learn about the structure of the test and complete practice problems and preparatory grammar and math reviews. Practice materials included. HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST ENGLISH INTENSIVE-Entering 8th Grade only. JULY 14-17 FROM 9AM-12PM. $150. Students will spend one week focusing on English/Grammar portion of the High School Placement Test. Practice materials included. HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST MATH INTENSIVE-Entering 8th Grade only. JULY 21-24 FROM 9AM-12PM. $150. Students will spend one week focusing on Math portion of the High School Placement Test. Practice materials included. HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION-Entering 9th Grade JULY 7-10 OR JULY 14-17 FROM 9AM-12PM $150. Designed for the incoming CCHS Freshman, teachers review time management, study skills, note taking and organization. Students also become familiar with the school campus, and get to meet other incoming freshman ahead of fall sports and activities. THEATER CAMP: Frozen, Jr.- Entering Grades 1-9 June 30-July 24th (MON-THURS) 9AM-12:30PM $500. Engage in the basics of dramatic performance including theater skills, character, interpretation, vocal production, stage presence, choreography, costuming and make-up. Crew and back stage opportunities available also! LATIN EXPERIENCE AGES 6-9-JULY 7-10 FROM 9AM-12PM $100. An introduction to spoken Latin: participants will have fun in learning basic prayers, greetings, songs, names of objects, the relationship between Latin and other languages. Participants will have a hands-on introduction to an important Roman art form - the mosaic - while learning more about Ancient Roman culture, the Latin language, and the impact of these on contemporary art and culture. Participants will learn about Roman engineering of aqueducts and roads, and help make edible models. Field trip to the Penn Museum. LATIN EXPERIENCE AGES 10-13-JULY 21-24 FROM 9AM-12PM $100.
