Below, please find a note to those who cared for Javier, written by a few Post Production team members who had the pleasure of getting to know him over the years:

A few weeks ago, our beloved Javier chose to end his life. We may never know why, and that unknowing is sometimes so much harder - but the memories that he left us with and the impact he left on our hearts will continue to live on.

To know Javier was like getting the unique chance to know multiple people in one. He had so many facets to his personality. Javier was a voracious reader. A favorite topic was history. He was always trying to connect the past to now, in an attempt to understand the cycle of human behavior. He loved music. His playlist was filled with artists from around the world. He was frequently in the audience of the Brooklyn Symphony, or would even stop into Grace Church, just to listen to the organ player. Javier loved an afternoon trip to the museum, particularly to see medieval works.

He also had a wicked, and infectious sense of humor. He loved digging deep into politics, and he could talk on countless films and television shows. If you needed a moment to clear your head or were in search of a conversation that skipped over passing pleasantries, Jav was the one you would look for. And these are just a few small pieces of one of the most warm, loving, and special people that we can say we have come across.

Words aren't enough to describe his giving nature, how he brought people together, or his openness to new ideas and experiences. These are the ways we choose to remember our dear Javier.

We hope, like Javier, you keep looking for answers and asking questions. Keep his memory alive by, if even for a moment, choosing to live like he did. Help someone else, look at art a little longer, give new ideas a shot.

We take solace in knowing that Javier’s last act of kindness was becoming an organ donor. His generosity has renewed life in so many others, and he will live on in these other people, and through our endless happy memories.

The intention of this page is first and foremost, to provide support to Javier’s family to cover the unexpected costs of this tragedy. So many people have reached out to see how they can help. While his family supports this page, they didn’t request it - But we like to think Javier would like that we are all coming together to support those who loved him most.

If costs become covered, any additional money raised will be donated to a charity that we think Javier would have supported - chosen by his family.

While we struggle to understand why Javier made this choice, we can also help to keep Javier’s memory alive by working to end the stigma surrounding suicide and metal health issues. It’s ok to be struggling - but please know there are resources available to help us all through this difficult time. It’s okay to say you’re not okay.
