Join Come Out With Pride in supporting the Florida Freedom to Read Project! Started in January of 2022, the Florida Freedom to Read Project aims to connect parent organizations across the state of Florida and focuses our energy on defending every student’s right to access information and ideas while at school. 

Today, more than ever, diverse books written by authors that identify in the same ways as their characters have been excluded, and even removed, from schools and libraries.

Florida Freedom to Read Project has a vision of fostering a positive relationship with our schools – partnering with national and local organizations to ensure Florida public schools are forward thinking and equipped to meet the unique needs of every student.

(1) Donating books on Orange, Osceola, and Seminole County Media Center wishlists from #OwnVoices authors.

(2) Hosting a storytime event featuring author Rob Sanders where he can read the book to kids and give a talk to parents and other community members about the importance of diverse books in schools.
