Learn something new and create a personalized project with our Hands-on Plants Workshops!

Fee: $50 per class
Gardens Members receive a $5 discount, watch your email for the promo code!

Program fee is non-refundable. Registration completed without the member code will not be refunded the discount. Please call our office at 715-261-6309 with any member promo code questions.

Registration for each workshop closes the morning beforehand so we can gather materials, please plan accordingly.

All workshops will be held at HSU Growing Supply

*November 14th & 15th- Porch Pots
Ages= 21+

Decorate your containers for the holiday season before the snow starts to fly! Create a holiday porch pot to take with you and learn how to make your existing containers festive. We will be using natural elements and embellishments to create stunning arrangements.

*November 28th & 29th - Wreaths
Ages= 21+

Get ready for an evening of crafting and relaxation. We will create an 18” balsam wreath by hand. We will be assembling the wreaths with balsam tips, along with other natural elements to create a gorgeous wreath that you can be proud of.

*December 5th & 6th - Gnomes
Ages= 21+

Hey gnomies! Let’s make some festive evergreen gnomes to accent your outdoor holiday decor. The three foot gnomes will be assembled using tomato cages adorned with spruce and pine boughs, along with hats, mittens and noses. Gnomes are the perfect way to spruce up your home!

*December 12th & 13th - Kissing Balls
Ages= 21+

Throughout history, kissing balls were hung over entryways as a beacon for blessings and good tidings to all who walked underneath it. Kissing balls are making a comeback in holiday traditions because of their natural beauty and good fortune. You will learn how to make a decorated kissing ball using evergreen tips and various other stems. Take home this beautiful feature to decorate your entryway for the holiday season.

*January 9th-Terrarium
Ages= 21+

Grab your friends and join us for our first terrarium workshop! Our crew will provide an overview on plant care and terrarium assembly, and then you'll be able to select your plants and decor to make a 6" terrarium that is perfect to display at home or the office. Make your terrarium one-of-a-kind!

*February 13th- Succulent Planter
Ages= 21+

During this class we will teach you how to plant & care for a centerpiece made of succulent cuttings. Learn about succulent plant care, maintenance, propagation and transplanting. Create your won specail planter to take home.

*March 12th- Seed Starting
Ages= 21+

Learn all about seed starting! Our horticulturalist demonstrates the planting process and leads you through it step-by-step. You’ll get all your questions answered as you get your hands dirty, in a good way! You'll leave with your garden's beginnings in a tray, seeded and ready to sprout!

*April 9th- Spring Wreath
Ages=21+

Spring is in the air—finally! Welcome the new season by crafting a fresh wreath to hang on your door. . At the end of the class, you’ll get to take home your wreath and the skills you need to recreate it again and again!

*NEW- HOP KIDS!

While you enjoy a relaxing evening learning something new, your child can do the same! Hands-on Plants Kids workshops are led by our experienced education staff. HOP Kids workshops will have a theme similar to the corresponding adult workshop.
*An adult caregiver for the child must be enrolled in the corresponding adult HOP workshop.

Ages= 3-12

Children must be between ages 3-12. The information and sign-in sheet must be completed for each child.

Children can be dropped off at their program space 15 min prior to the adult workshop start (5:45 PM) and must be picked up immediately after the adult workshop is completed.
