Landscape designer and eco-artist Jax Hughes and Happy Bear Landscapes have teamed up with ArtPort Kingston to produce a one-of-a-kind eco-art installation at the non-profit's community art venue in Midtown Kingston.

We're calling on our community of supporters to help complete and maintain the artwork, purchase plants, and bring this unique design to life! Donations will be used to directly support the following aspects of the artwork:

Completion of construction and excavation.
Purchasing drought- and heat-resistant plants.
Purchasing soil and mulching materials.
Basic maintenance of the garden.

Faultline Fissures is a site-specific installation by Jax Hughes that explores an alternative design approach to reclaiming urban space into green space. A series of long narrow "fissure gardens" are cut into the site's existing tarmac and filled with heat- and drought-resistance herbaceous perennials. Uprooted sections of tarmac are then recycled into sculptural works to adorn the garden exhibition

Additional collaborators include Cameron Kucera (MODL design) and Auggie McGillicuddy (Blue Heron Hardscapes). This project contributes to ArtPort Kingston's community garden project Garden Of Delights located at ArtYard Kingston at 80 Smith Avenue. Learn more and get involved at artportkingston.org.
