The Food Bank, Inc. serves Bulloch County and its seven contiguous (touching) counties, including Bryan, Evans, Screven, Effingham, Emanuel, Jenkins, and Candler Counties.

Collectively, the region is considered an area of persistent poverty – where the poverty rates have been above 20% for over 30 years. “This multi-generational poverty affects the whole community”*, especially the most vulnerable in the community – like children and senior citizens. Indeed, nearly 1 out of 4 of children in our area experience food insecurity (not knowing where their next meal is coming from) every week, and 60% of the Bulloch County population is eligible for government assistance programs.**

We are working to ensure that all members of the communities we serve have equitable access to healthy, nutritious foods.
