Unbound Authors is a writing center serving 11 Colorado prisons — and growing. We provide incarcerated writers with the tools, space, and encouragement to write across genres: journalism, poetry, memoir, screenplays, resumes, and more.

Thanks to community volunteers, we deliver our core Writer's Mentoring Lab sessions, publish writers’ work in an annual anthology, and are building a statewide newspaper and creative arts magazine written by and for incarcerated people. Every story shared builds connection, dignity, and possibility.
