We want to help the widows/single mothers who live in the Ranquitte/Roi area who are in need of food and medicine. They live day to day in bad situations and suffer because they have no way to help themselves. These women have untreated medical conditions like high blood pressure & live in houses that are falling in around them. Many women have lost their spouses, but it isn't uncommon for men to leave their wives destitute & uncared for & choose another 'wife'. There is not any employment opportunities in these areas for the women to find work except for their gardens & selling products in the open markets, if they even have the health necessary for working or traveling. We would like to start a Women's Nutrition Program to help provide needy ladies & their families with food, toiletry items like toothpaste & soap, & medicines. Remina Jean, who is a nurse, will oversee the distribution of the goods to each home & provide the women with a monthly check up to monitor things like their blood pressure & blood sugar & give them medicines to aid in the control of these conditions.
Psalm 68:5 Tells us that God is concerned with the widows, the fatherless, and the stranger. Many times throughout the Bible, the Lord tells His people to care for the vulnerable. As children of God we want to make sure we are copying His example and conforming to His will. In this world of trials and tribulations it is easy to want to turn internally and try to close out the distresses of the world, but we need to remember that when we are other focused it helps to lift our hearts off our own problems and brings us so many blessings knowing that we have made a change for the better in another persons life. If you are able to help financially in giving so that we can purchase some of the things necessary to provide these women nutrition and medical care we thank you so much! But if you are unable to help with a financial gift you can still help. Would you please consider lifting these ladies up in prayer and sharing their need on your social media as well as with your family and friends? You can either share this link or you can send a simple text asking people to text SSHWidows to (202) 858-1233 for more information. Thank you so much for your support!
