Our long-term service goals:
- Estimate and report on puma (Puma concolor) occurrence, density, health and movement across our 9-county study zone in the San Francisco Bay Area, and distribute our findings to patrons in the conservation field, local developers, park services, property-owners, housing and transit managers, and law enforcement authorities in order to inform them of puma activity and make recommendations on improved wildlife management and coexistence in the region.

- Inform and educate Bay Area communities about the puma and their behaviors, including educating young people on the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem balance through the lens of the wild cat, in order to reduce fears, improve human-wildlife relations, and inspire residents to take on stewardship of their urban wildlands to create a community where biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, including pumas, can thrive without conflict with or from humans.

- Apply new technologies that address conservation needs, particularly those that allow less invasive and more efficient research methodologies for capturing biological, movement and behavioral data, and those that can bring communities together around greater awareness and action on behalf of wildlife and ecosystems.

- Engage in partnerships across the region, country and globe with stakeholder organizations and institutions spanning the spectrum (scientific, academic, government, community, law enforcement, research and ranching) in order to build alliances, address hotspot issues, provide varied volunteer opportunities, share knowledge and techniques, and generally advance our mission beyond the region where we do most of our work.
