Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
I am reaching out to you during a challenging time. As many of you know, my name is Clare Riviere and I am a dedicated K-4 music teacher in Western North Carolina, passionate about inspiring our youngest learners through the joy of music. Unfortunately, my classroom was devastated by Hurricane Helene, leaving me without instruments, resources, and the materials needed to nurture our students' creativity.
The storm took everything—my beloved instruments, classroom supplies, and the countless projects that brought music to life for my students. With your help, I hope to rebuild my classroom and restore the vibrant music program that has been a cornerstone of our FernLeaf school community.
What Your Support Will Do:
Replace Instruments: All of my instruments were damaged beyond repair. Your contributions will help purchase new ones, ensuring my students have access to the tools they need to explore music.
Replenish Supplies: I need to replace essential classroom materials like sheet music, books, and art supplies that help bring our music lessons to life.
Create a Safe Learning Environment: Your donations will help repair and furnish the classroom, making it a welcoming space where students can thrive.
Music is not just an art form; it is an important emotional outlet, especially for young students who have experienced trauma. For many of my students, music provides a safe space to express their feelings, cope with challenges, and build resilience. By restoring this program, we can help our children heal and find joy amidst adversity.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference and will help me continue to share my love for music with my students. Together, we can rebuild not just a classroom, but a safe haven for creativity and learning.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time. Let’s bring music back to our children!
With gratitude,
Clare Riviere
