FETCH Animal Rescue needs your help! As a brand-new no-kill animal rescue in Kern County, California effective January 1, 2024, donations are not currently tax deductible. We are raising funds to apply for our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status & attorney fees, so that donations in the future will be tax deductible. This status not only will help us raise more and larger donations, but will also help us in obtaining grants and other opportunities due to the 501(c)(3) requirement. As a startup nonprofit, obtaining this tax-deductible status is crucial.

FETCH is public benefit nonprofit corporation registered in the state of California. You can verify our good standing status with the state by searching Fetch Animal Rescue at the California Secretary of State website. We are a volunteer run and foster home-based rescue and currently don’t have an animal shelter or facility to hold or house the animals. Our goal is to one day build a facility in California City, California, so that our rescue has both a foster home-based program still, in addition to a facility to house and hold rescue animals. It’s vital to our success, mission, and vision for FETCH. In the mean-time animals will be picked up and brought directly into a foster home as our intake process. Adoptions will happen thru adoption events and one on one meetings between the potential adopters and FETCH with the assistance of the fosterer.

Since January 1st, we have been scanning dogs found for a microchip in California City, in which we have been able to reunite most of them with their owners. We have also taken in our first rescue dog 3/5/2024 named Honey. We recently were responsible for rescuing a stray dog 3/10/2024 that was injured in back of Coyote Cafe in California City, taking it to the animal hospital in Palmdale, where he was able to be saved and returned to the owner who was later found. We are currently onboarding volunteers, getting ready to onboard foster homes, planning a few events such as a Check the Chip event, amongst other things. We will also be helping strays in the communities we serve while we wait to obtain our 501(c)(3) designation. Once we do, the sky is the limit.

We ask you to consider donating so we can get our 501(c)(3) tax status and begin helping save as many dogs and cats as possible. As shelters turn away dogs in need or many dogs facing euthanasia for space at the shelter, we need our 501(c)(3) status ASAP in order to pull from shelters and provide them the care they need until adoption.
