Fordham Graduate Student Worker Action Fund

Grad workers at Fordham University are raising money for our hardship fund!

Fordham's upper administration has refused to offer meaningful responses and solutions to the serious problems that Fordham graduate workers are facing. This fund will support graduate workers who face hardship in the event that the union must strike. It supports workers in the event that the University withholds pay and benefits to punish them for fighting to improve working and learning conditions at Fordham. Should the employer threaten our livelihoods, all funds will be ready to directly support workers in most need.

Your donation to this strike fund will make a real difference in grad workers’ ability to sustain the fight to make a sustainable and equitable Fordham for All. Fordham has reached a $1 billion endowment. Yet, in recent years, "raises" from upper administration are in reality pay cuts, and Fordham’s upper administration has hired a range of anti-union lawyers to slow negotiations with the Fordham Graduate Student Workers Union-- failing to come to a single agreement with respect to the many reasonable proposals that the FGSW Bargaining Committee has made. They have repeatedly refused proposed solutions that have been thought through, considered, drafted, and delivered by parent grad workers, international grad workers, housing-precarious grad workers, and other grad student worker populations.

If you believe grad workers deserve fair pay, healthcare, protections from sexual harassment, working/teaching conditions, donate to our cause today!

We welcome donations from graduate assistants, graduate fellows, Fordham alumni, Fordham parents, local allies, our trade union allies, and anyone across the world who believes everyone at Fordham deserves dignified working conditions!

All donations will go to the FGSW Hardship Fund account and will be used to support workers. In the event that hardship is averted or there are funds leftover, they will be transferred to the hardship funds of other graduate workers fighting for better working conditions.
