Fundraise, too!
Story
During WoLF's "Fifty States for Sex-Based Rights" fundraiser, we ask you to make a tax-deductible gift that sustains our efforts in your state's region and the US at large! For this campaign, we have grouped the fifty states into the four census regions of the United States.
> Four US Regions x $5,000 each = $20,000!
While federal agencies are a high priority for advocacy, WoLF continues its state-by-state legal advocacy on behalf of women and girls. As a small but growing nonprofit, WoLF is proud to have covered over half of the US states through our diligent efforts made possible by generous volunteers and donors. Since 2020, WoLF has advanced its legal and policy advocacy in 35 of the 50 states!
Here are a few selected examples of our hard work across the states:
Want to show support for your state's region? Join our efforts by sharing the link to your region's fundraising page (West, Midwest, Northeast, South, or International) or become a volunteer team member through "Fundraise, too!" but be sure to select your region. Read our guide for team member volunteer fundraising here. Thank you in advance!
Women and girls are the collateral damage of identity politics—When “gender identity” is used in law and policy, women and girls lose their rights to privacy, endure greater risk of sexual violence, and lose the intended benefits of those policies addressing the historical and systemic discrimination of female people.
In law and policy, the increasingly common substitution of “sex” for “gender and gender identity” allows for males to 'self-identify' into traditionally sex-exclusive spaces. Trans activists have continued their campaign to destroy single-sex spaces, and women's prisons were not immune. Here are some of the US states where similar laws and policies are already enacted or are in consideration: California (SB132), Maine (LD1044 & LD1721), New York (S08005, S06677, S02809, A09005, A07001, & A00691), Maryland (HB453 & SB550), Washington state (HB1956 & SB5859), as well as the federal level (US HRes226). Yet, 77% of likely US voters agree that male sex offenders or domestic abusers should not be housed in women's prisons, regardless of how they identify.
Thanks to its supporters, WoLF fights to ensure that sex-based rights are protected, advanced, and restored across the fifty US states!
WoLF is the largest US feminist nonprofit providing a counter-narrative to gender ideology (e.g. transgenderism, gender identity, and sex-role stereotypes) and commercial sexual exploitation (e.g. prostitution, surrogacy, pornography, etc.) at every level of government.
The US federal government is a "limited government," with each of the fifty US states empowered to create and enforce additional laws for its state. This means that a "Save Women's Sports" bill in Texas might look different from a similar bill in Hawaii or Idaho.
Despite a relatively limited capacity, WoLF has continued to lead the feminist charge against gender identity policies in the United States by forming key legislative partnerships and identifying areas of opportunity, including working across party lines. These limited-issue partnerships enable small but mighty organizations like WoLF to enact real change that preserves the civil rights of women and girls.
To protect incarcerated women, WoLF filed a civil rights lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation to overturn SB132 on November 17, 2021.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, WoLF exists because donors like you believe that women and girls deserve a fair fight against the erosion of sex-based rights.
With far fewer paid staff members and a fraction of the annual budgets spent by massive organizations like the ACLU or HRC, WoLF is proud to have fought for women's rights in more than half of the US states since 2020! Although WoLF is still a small organization, compared to the industry giants we are up against we continue to make significant progress towards women's liberation. To learn more, read our Scales of Society: People | Money.
Thanks to specially dedicated philanthropists, WoLF's capacity is growing to meet the challenges to women's rights in our country! The WoLF team works tirelessly to stay informed on all those bills that potentially impact women and girls in our key issue areas across the fifty states and US federal agencies.
However, many pending and existing laws require the attention of pro-women advocates. Your generous support helps WoLF cover more ground, more quickly. Each dollar donated helps turn the tide towards a victory for women and girls! Learn more about how we applied your generous gifts last year in our 2021 Year In Review.
The Women's Liberation Front (WoLF) exists to abolish regressive gender roles and the epidemic of male violence using legal arguments, policy advocacy, and public education. WoLF works to protect, advance, and restore the sex-based rights of women and girls.
