My name is Spencer, and I am a Terminal Stage IV Colorectal Cancer Patient who lives in Livermore and Lodi. My overall goal of $20,000 is for all of 2024 and includes my Ride Against CRC and Wine Against CRC events and more. 

I was diagnosed with colon cancer first in October of 2019 but by April of 2020 I was declared NED- or No Evidence of Disease- the first step to remission. By November of 2020 symptoms had retuned and on February 11, 2021, I received the diagnosis of Stage IV Metastatic Colon Cancer. I was only 23 years old at the time. Unfortunately, my cancer has progressed even with treatment, and I am Terminal. Meaning I will die from my cancer. Hopefully with my continued treatment that will not be for a long time.

I became an Ambassador and Volunteer working with Fight Colorectal Cancer (FightCRC). FightCRC is the leading patient-empowerment and advocacy organization in the United States, providing balanced and objective information on colon and rectal cancer research, treatment, and policy. We are relentless champions of hope, focused on funding promising, high-impact research endeavors, while equipping advocates to influence legislation and policy for the collective good. As allies in the struggle, we are fiercely determined to end colorectal cancer within our lifetime. Currently, we are working hard to raise funds in order to achieve our mission and help Young Onset Patients (patients under 50). Did you know CRC is estimated to be the leading cause of cancer death for 20–49-year-olds by 2030?

Building on the success of the Ride Against CRC, we are thrilled to introduce the Wine Against CRC event, a unique gathering for both riders and non-riders alike. Set in the picturesque Livermore area in the fall of 2024, this event promises an enriching experience combining the joy of wine tasting with a mission to fight colorectal cancer.

All proceeds from the event will directly support FightCRC, an organization dedicated to increasing research, education, and advocacy for colorectal cancer. This event aims not only to raise funds but also to spread awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer, which is predicted to become the leading cause of cancer death for adults aged 20-49 by 2030​​.
