Backpacks for Bright Futures

Every child deserves to walk into school prepared. Yet across Sierra Leone, many families are doing everything they can and still cannot afford basic school supplies or tuition fees.

This year, in celebration of Develop Africa’s 20th Anniversary, we are launching a special Backpacks for Bright Futures campaign with a meaningful goal:

200 students supported in honor of 20 years of impact.

Through this initiative, we will provide students with essential school supplies and tuition support so they can start the school year ready to learn, grow, and succeed.

How You Can Make an Impact

You can sponsor a student today:

$50 sponsors one elementary-aged student
Provides school supplies + tuition support
(Goal: 50 elementary students)

$75 sponsors one junior high or high school student
Provides school supplies + tuition support
(Goal: 150 students)

These simple resources—backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, and more—remove barriers, restore dignity, and give students the confidence to participate fully in school.

Important Deadline

To ensure all supplies are purchased, packed, and ready for August distribution, we must collect school support by July 31st.
