First Responders Foundation Wellness Programs
Wellness Programming strives to support First Responders, Veterans and their families to be mentally and emotionally sound and physically fit, improving their lives and effectiveness and making our communities safer.
The Behavioral Health Wellness component offers a variety of sessions and training in handling job-related stress, mitigating acute traumatic stress, trauma and unique health challenges such as sleep recovery.
Physical health is interrelated with mental health. Physical activity has also been found to protect against the negative effects of psychological stress, improve sleep and decrease depression. Higher fitness levels also decrease on the job injury risk. The First Responders Physical Health component of our Wellness Program is proud to be a Certified Training Center for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu®.
The JAVELAN Program provides full funding for service dogs for Military Veterans and retired First Responders. Service dogs are furry medical devices that enable independence and give life-saving support. The dogs are specifically trained for each individual and their unique needs and shelter or rescue dogs are used whenever possible.
