Fluffy Friends for Children with Chronic Conditions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization fulfilling its founder's vision of a world in which all chronically-ill patients feel safe and secure by partnering with their physicians who will provide them with a teddy bear that looks like them and can relate to their experience. Oftentimes, chronic illnesses are invisible, making them even harder for children and their peers to understand. This organization fosters healthy psychological development in these pediatric patients who have experienced traumatic medical episodes by promoting empathetic, trauma-informed care. That means we need YOUR help to bring Fluffy Friends into the arms of children who need them most.

Phase 1 will serve neurological patients.

Funds from this campaign will be used to provide patients with their very own little buddy who understands their life experiences in every way. Fluffy Friends are intended to prevent medical PTSD through the very heart of medical care, a trusting relationship with their physicians. The numerous invasive procedures that these patients must endure can be extremely traumatizing to these young patients. Fluffy Friends also addresses the stigma surrounding diagnosis disclosure. By concealing what makes them so special, patients have full autonomy over who to share their diagnosis with.
