Shortly after legendary surf photographer Larry "Flame" Moore's passing in October 2005, a group of friends and family formed Follow the Light to ensure that Flame's legacy of passionately supporting up-and-coming surf photographers continued.

Since 2006, FTL has been dedicated to uplifting the next generation of surf photographers through an annual grant program which gives young photographers financial support, recognition within the surf community, and opportunities to continue their photography careers with industry experts.
