Within the sacred rhythm of the Hawaiian islands, there is a call—a call to breathe, to be, and to belong. In Hawaiian, HA means breath, WAI means water, and ‘I represents the divine spark within us all. Together, they form the word Hawai‘i—a place where healing begins and memories are born.

Nate felt that call deeply.
Even as he bravely battled brain cancer, Nate’s heart longed for Hawaii—the place where he felt most alive. His final wish was simple and powerful: to return to the islands, to feel the sun on his face, the ocean at his feet, and the spirit of aloha in his soul.

Though Nate’s journey on earth ended too soon, his love lives on. In his memory, the Forever Nate Foundation has partnered with 2 Walk on Water to create the Forever ‘Ohana Retreat—a life-giving escape for children with cancer and their families. This isn’t just a vacation. It’s a sacred pause, a moment to breathe, to bond, and to remember what really matters.

A hand-selected group of families facing pediatric cancer will receive:

7 nights of oceanview accommodations on West Oahu
Water-based healing activities (kayaking, gentle swim therapy, ocean meditations)
Trauma-informed support for parents and caregivers
Fun-filled island experiences to create lasting joy and connection
Ongoing community support after the retreat ends
