Course Description

This special 28-week course offers a comprehensive exploration of Imam Al-Nawawi’s renowned Forty Hadith—one of the most widely studied collections of prophetic sayings in the Islamic tradition. Carefully selected by Imam Al-Nawawi, these hadiths capture the essence of Islamic ethics, spiritual insight, and moral guidance, covering foundational concepts of faith, character, and daily conduct.

Each hadith provides a window into the timeless wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, offering students practical tools and profound spiritual lessons to navigate everyday life. Through structured study and reflection, students will deepen their understanding of Islam’s core values and strengthen their relationship with Allah and His Messenger.

Whether you're new to Islamic studies or seeking to reconnect with foundational teachings, this course serves as a beacon—guiding you toward clarity, purpose, and a more rooted connection to the Prophetic legacy.

Instructor Bio: Ustadha Kouthar Muttardy

Ustadha Kouthar Muttardy was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychologywith an emphasis in Human Development from George Mason University, and a Master of Arts in Education from Marymount University. With over 20 years of experience as a K–12 teacher, teacher trainer, and curriculum development specialist, she brings a wealth of educational expertise to her work.

In addition to her academic background, Ustadha Kouthar has been dedicated to the study of traditional Islamic sciences since high school. Her studies include Tajwid, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Seerah, Hadith, and Fiqh—specifically within the Hanbali and Shafi’i schools of thought.

She completed her Islamic Studies Teacher Certification through the Ribaat Academic Institute in 2020. Ustadha Kouthar also holds ijazaat (scholarly licenses) in teaching and transmitting Imam Al-Nawawi’s Arba’een (Forty Hadith) and is passionate about making sacred knowledge accessible and relevant to her students.

Please Note: If there are no prayer breaks during class, the session length may be shorter than 2 hours.

This course is open to both brothers and sisters.
